MN improves to 3-4 with 22-17 win over the 49ers. Travel to Lambeau for Week 8, rivalry week! #SKOL

The Vikings won on Monday night against possibly the best team in the NFL! Minnesota defeated the 49ers 22-17 in primetime, and played one of the best games I have seen in awhile. No Jefferson? NO PROBLEM! Jordan Addison continues to take full advantage of his opportunity to become a star in Minnesota and I love it! He is up to 29 catches, 400 yards, and 6 touchdowns to start his rookie season. This was also the best game I have seen QB Cousins play in his career. If you have been following my blog over the past few years, you know I do not care about stats. I care about winning. This is not a typical game that QB Cousins would come out victorious, but I will give him credit for stepping up in prime-time and helping the Vikings take down one of the league's best. It's also pretty amazing how we now have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Spinning off of that, we need to stop giving Mattison so many touches, and let Akers and Chandler get more run. I think every Vikings fan can see that...not sure how the coaching staff can't. The Vikings are now the only team left in the NFL that has yet to record a rushing touchdown. Crazy.

On the other hand, I want to remind you Vikings fans that Cousins is, and always has been, Fool's Gold. This isn't the first time with Cousins that we have lost games that we should win, only to turn around a few weeks later and beat a team we weren't expecting to beat. We also caught the 49ers at the perfect time. I know we didn't have JJ, but the 49ers had just come off a heartbreaking loss to the Browns and were without WR Deebo Samuel, OL Trent Williams, and playing with injured QB Brock Purdy and RB Christian McCaffrey. I personally still think the Vikings SHOULD be sellers at the trade deadline. Even though this was a HUGE win, the Vikings are still not a good team in terms of being a playoff force. We still need to be looking to the future because deep down we all know how this season will play out. Just like every season, this QB Cousins led team will continue to float around .500 if we do nothing at the deadline and decide to push forward. We will either barely make or barely miss the playoffs. If we make the playoffs, we will lose in the first game again. Either way, we will be stuck picking around #20 in the draft and we will just continue this cycle of mediocrity. I have never liked the idea of tanking, but I really hope the owners and GM sell some players (who are going to walk next year anyway) before the October 31st trade deadline and make it harder on this year's Vikings to win as many games while accumulating more future draft picks. It would be a more forward thinking plan, something that we hardly ever see the Vikings do. I just want them to make smart business decisions and this one feels extremely obvious.

Week 8, our 3-4 Vikings travel to Lambeau Field (the worst stadium in the entire NFL) to face the terrible 2-4 Green Bay Packers. I will never predict a Minnesota team to lose to a team from Wiscansin. I won't do it. Even if I am driving 102 MPH down the highway and my wheel falls off my car and I spin out and roll 13 times right into oncoming traffic. I just won't do it! QB Jordan Love is one of the worst QBs I have ever seen. If you think Justin Fields is bad, wait until you see Love play. This guy wasn't even good at Utah State, yet the Packers GM still picked him a few years ago in the FIRST ROUND. I ain't complaining. Brian Flores' defense is going to be way too much for Love. It's nice to see the Packers with a non-HOF QB for the first time in over 3 decades. I predict the Vikings to beat the Packers 69-3 in an absolute BLOODBATH in front of all the drunk Wisconsin-ites. It should be a glorious Sunday for Vikings fans! :) SKOL!
