Gophers lose big to Penn State, 45-17. We suck. Rutgers up next at the Bank.
The Gopher's first 4 games went great, but the last 3 games they looked like a completely different team. There is no offensive flow and the team looks totally checked out. I really didn't see this coming especially since we had so many returning pieces including our old offensive coordinator from 2019. It feels like they have no confidence in each other and the weird coaching decisions have continued since the Purdue Homecoming game. Penn State kicked the crap out of the Gophers, 45-17. Penn State was only leading 17-10 at halftime, but the wheels really fell off in the second half. I think the biggest reason for the downfall has been due to quarterback play. I know Tanner Morgan has been one of the best QBs in program history, but it is time to move on and give the rest of the season to Redshirt Freshman, Athan Kaliakmanis, to gain experience for the upcoming seasons.
With Rutgers coming into town, this should give the Gophers an opportunity to bounce back with a win. Mo Ibrahim should have a solid game and hopefully it helps open up the passing game. I don't really know what to make of this Gopher team anymore. This was the season to finally win the Big Ten West and they have completely crashed and burned. Minnesota comes into this game as 14 point favorites over Rutgers. I predict a dominant 31-10 victory for the Gophers. They really need to get back on track the rest of the way and they have 3 more trophy games upcoming. That should be enough motivation to get back on track. Go Gophers!
