Vikings (5-6) travel to Detroit to face the Lions (0-10-1) Week 13 Preview

The Minnesota Vikings had fought back to 5-5 before dropping a close game to the 49ers last weekend. I don't think last week's loss was that bad of a loss, but I did have an issue with the Vikings choosing to go for 2 point conversions on 2 separate occasions. I believe that teams should take the points when they can get them whenever the game is in the first 3 quarters. The Lions should be a much easier test and a game that should get the Vikings back in the win column. They will be without their top RB, Swift, and the Vikings are getting their top Defensive Tackles back. The Vikings also will be without RB Dalvin Cook, but this should allow them to get creative with RBs Alexander Mattison and Kene Nwangwu in both the running and passing game. I really don't think this game is going to be particularly close as the Vikings should jump out to a lead and keep piling on the points. I the Vikings let the Lions hang around, we might be in for a similar game as we saw in the first meeting where the Vikings had to win on a game-winning field goal 19-17.

My prediction for this game is that QB Cousins will play well getting the ball to Thielen and Jefferson early and often, Mattison will pay solid and finish with around 100 rushing yards, Nwangwu is going to have his coming out party with a HUGE game, and the defense with shut the Lions down pretty easily. This game will finish with a decisive Vikings win with a final score around 38-13. Us Vikings fans deserve to watch a game without having to be stressed out in the second half. Go Vikings!
