Vikings lose 34-23 to red hot Lions. Minnesota hosts the 4-8-1 Colts this Saturday!

The Vikings fall to 10-3 after losing 34-23 to the Detroit Lions. It was another game that saw the Vikings offense asleep for most of the game and the defense continuing to be pathetic. I had looked at DC Ed Donatell's track record prior to the season starting and noticed that the way this season has gone is exactly how his defenses have performed in the past. I really don't understand why they keep going with this "defensive scheme." The Vikings have really good players at all 3 levels, but somehow this "scheme" has turned the defense into the worst in the league. Ed Donatell actually went as far as to blame it on the player's execution this week... like are you kidding me? You're going to blame the players? That is the opposite of what O'Connell does, so I can guarantee Donatell will be replaced this offseason. It's just 1 loss and the Vikings are still in the #2 spot for the playoffs. We control our own destiny as long as we get back to our winning ways.

This Saturday, the Vikings will host the 4-8-1 Indianapolis Colts. The Vikings haven't beaten the Colts since 1997, so we are due! The Colts are one of the worst teams in the NFL. Matt Ryan hasn't worked, Jonathan Taylor has dealt with injury issues, and they fired their head coach a few weeks ago. If the Vikings can't beat this team, it will be pretty embarrassing. I predict Dalvin Cook, TJ Hockenson, and the defense to have big games, leading to a 31-20 victory for the Vikings. I also wouldn't be overly surprised if the Colts pull off an upset since the Vikings honestly have a lot of holes. But if the Vikings are trying to be actual contenders, they have to win this one. Let's go, Vikings!
