Minnesota Golden Gophers (2-0) travel to California Golden Bears (2-0)... Big Ten GAME OF THE WEEK! #RowTheBoat

Quick Birdman recap from last week against Northwestern State: "I expect the Gophers to win 65-0 while not allowing the Demons to gain a single 1st down. This includes when our 3rd string players are in. Dominate the game and get ready for California." Once again, a spot on prediction from Birdman's Blog! The Gophers ended up winning 66-0 and allowed only 2 first downs over the course of the game. CB John Nestor started things off with a pick-6 on the first play of the game, and the rest is history... We dominated the game and are now ready for California!

Golden Gophers vs Golden Bears:

• California fans are excited this season due to their 5-star true freshman Quarterback, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. He is an electric Hawaiian playmaker whose only flaw is that he is a lefty.

• It is still early in the season and both teams have played one decent team and one scrub team, so from an outsider looking in, this appears to be a heck of a game for Saturday night!

• After watching California play against Oregon State and Texas Southern, it is clear to me that California is not on the same level as Minnesota. California will need to use the home field advantage and start time to their advantage if they are hoping to stay in this game.

• Minnesota Golden Gophers have the better Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. We also have the best player (and probably the best 5 players) in this game. Koi Perich is going to make some huge plays, so make sure you don't take your eyes off this game.

• RB Darius Taylor pulled a hamstring last game, so AJ Turner, Cam Davis, and Grant Washington will have to carry the load tonight for the Gophers.

• QB Drake Lindsey will keep his hot passing start to the season going. This will be a fun Quarterback matchup!

• The Gophers defense is a Top 5 defense in the nation...California will not be able to overcome a full game against this defense.

• I expect this game to be back and forth at the start, with the Gophers prevailing over the Bears 27-17.

Let's go, Gophers! Power through this late night game and head into Big Ten Play 3-0 and feeling great! I can't wait :)
